If theres one thing we have heard a lot of in 2020 it's that the timing of things has been hard. "This just couldn't have happened at a worse time." "If it wasn't all happening at the same time it'd be easier." "This just happened at such a bad time I don't know how to afford this." The truth is most things never happen at a good time. We say "it would have worked better IF...", but the fact of the matter is those IF's are probably never going to work out that way. So why do we stress so much about things never working perfectly? I know I am so guilty of this. My anxiety has me constantly stress about how things will work out. Having bills coming in and wondering how much they will be but the fact is that things always do work out in some way in the end. So why do we put so much added stress over things we can't control? It's ok to have things be a little messy or chaotic, that's part of life! This year has taught us all just how much we can handle and overcome. Stressing over things aren't going to make them go away. Its best to just do what we can. As long as we keeping doing our best and staying as positive as as possible, thats going to make the best out of situations. We constantly set hard goals for ourselves and then beat ourselves down for not achieving them. Theres nothing wrong with having big goals and ambitions. This year as my first full year as a stylist behind the chair I set one goal for myself; to have my work posted on a larger social media page platform. This is a huge goal for someone newly behind the chair. Can it be done? Yes. Have I accomplished this goal? No. At first i was beating myself up for not yet achieving it but I also was unemployed for part of this year. I am also a newer stylist still learning and building up clientele in one of the craziest years ever. And it was a big goal for me to make this year. Theres nothing wrong with giving ourselves big goals but we have to remember its ok to not accomplish them in the original time frame. As long as we keep pushing ourselves and not giving up thats the best you can give! This year as taught us a lot. And perhaps one of the biggest lessons we have ever needed. Timing almost never seems to be perfect. But at the same time, there never will be a better time. We are all still learning. We all are our trying our hardest and thats all we need to do. It's ok to not have it all figured out and have everything perfect. We just have to remember to not give up.
