Working for a Passion or Working for a Paycheck?

We all want to make a career out of something were passionate about. We want to wake up every day and "get to go to work not have to go to work". But yet so many people don't have that. We get stuck in the endless cycle each day. Dragging ourselves to work and just waiting for pay day. But I am lucky enough to be getting trained in a career I am in love with. However even I have my days. I let rude customers get to me. It's hard when you work so hard and feel the client doesn't acknowledge your skill or just is straight up rude, even if the end result is great. We get lost in the day to day shuffle. Not taking care of ourselves wears us down and makes us burn out. I have to remember to stay positive and shake off those negative customers. I try to take of myself so I can wake up energized and ready for the day. And the days I get those negative customers who even though I may just given my best haircut or color respond with no expression and no tip at the end I have to smile shake it off and move on to my next client. Because I love what I do I don't give up easy. I want to make a difference with my career, not just sit around and wait for my next paycheck. I get clients I can make a big difference with. I have had several special needs clients in my chair and they have been the most rewarding experiences. By making them feel special and only focuses on them I can make them feel important and they leave smiling and excited. I have the rewarding moments on working on friends or family and being able to say I did their great haircut or color. Always love what you do. If you choose a career you have passion for you can do so much and accomplish anything. Don't let what others say about your career bring you down and question what you do. "A mind troubled by doubt cannot focus on the course to victory."
